The print itself is
highly complex, and marks new territory for the artist. The print is
multilayered with screen and litho print, fabric collage and gold foil elements
applied, as well as hand drawn elements and die-cut details. Each print is
unique in this way. The subject matter elaborates on Shonibare's concerns
with postcolonial theory and globalization, and
continues with exploration on the current global and economic climate, often
using tongue-in-cheek humour.
